| (Tohon Newsletter Vol.3_No.1_Total No.9) By Miss Paula Matsuno Tomizawa (Hon-rikuto church; Living in Los Angeles, U.S.A.; Chairperson of America Joshi-seinen [the Young Women’s Section in America ]). The 22nd convention of young members (Joshi-seinen) of the Women’s Association was held at H.Q. on November 3, 2001. On November 3, 2001, I was able to attend the 22nd Joshi-seinen Convention. It gave me tremendous joy that I was able to return to Ojiba, with my two sisters, Joyce and Mary, niece and nephew, Jo-Jo and Tomo and 25 America and Canada Joshiseinen members. To my sisters and me, it was of great urgency for us to return to Ojiba so we could thank God the Parent and Oyasama for the full recovery of my mother after falling ill in September. Many times, my sisters and I were unsure if we would be able to attend the Convention due to various reasons, but when my mother fell ill, we felt that it was a sign from God the Parent for us to attend the Convention and return to Ojiba. I am so grateful that I went to the Convention, because it was very inspiring and also gave me the opportunity to reunite with friends I had made 4 years ago during Oyasato Seminar. The lectures were very interesting and made me really reflect on my faith and rethink a lot of the things that I could change about myself to be a better Yoboku. After the convention, I was also able to spend a week in Tokyo. We saw many sites and did a lot of shopping. The best part of coming to Tokyo was seeing the smile on my grandma’s face when she saw her great-grand children. Being able to sit with her in the Shinden (Sanctuary of Tohon) and do Otsutome was very heartwarming. In conclusion I would like to thank the many people who made our trip enjoyable. I know I speak on behalf of all of us when I say that we had a great time here in Tokyo. Finally, we would also like to thank all those who took such great care of my mother when she was ill in Japan. We are forever grateful for the kind care you gave to her. DOMO ARIGATO.
